Eddystone is a settlement north of Grafton and was intended to be a center for the area. Settled early and developed in the traditional way ... it became home to a church, a blacksmith shop and later a post office. However as time passed and transportation became easier the population never did materialize to the scope the early planners had expected. The church has remained a viable mission but the blacksmith shop fell out of use and the post office was closed by the government
